I am among the biggest fans of bass and bass players. Having watched the rapid evolution of the electric bass for half a century alongside its predecessor, the acoustic bass (which has hundreds of years of history), I sometimes wonder whether it’s catching up to, or breezing past, most other instruments? I think I’ll leave that up to you to decide.
In Maximilian’s case, he is a unique bass player who excels on electric bass as well as the acoustic bass. When I first heard Maximilian, I was impressed with his steadiness, along with his outstanding technique and dexterity on both instruments, which he uses to make next level music.
On this recording he displays himself how one should, as an artistically driven bass player. His album is full of well-written music, along with his individual performance as a bassist, which shows his devotion to both instruments. Today, most bass players seem to land as either an acoustic bass player or an electric bass player. Here we have a unique player who is almost equal on both. Please give this record a listen! I’m sure this is his first of many to come....
